Over the next three years, as we transition to a one-to-one device practice for all students, there will be some time during which we will need some students to bring their own devices (BYOD). While this plan of BYOD is helpful, in theory, in supplementing student devices on campus, we need to be cautious not to create a situation that will deepen the existing inequities in our community. If some students bring devices that are noticeably different from the standard-issue Chromebooks or program-specific laptops, it will visibly heighten issues of class and socioeconomics in the community.

The Technology Integration Council (TIC) recommends the following BYOD practices.
