There are times when students seem to "go missing" from IC or Canvas if they have changed their schedule. Please use the instructions below to show your dropped students, if necessary.
If you don't see some of your students in your Canvas gradebook, they may just be inactive in your course. Be sure to show "inactive enrollments" and/or "concluded enrollments"
From your gradebook, hover over the column header "Student Name" until the 3 dots appear. Click on the 3 dots
Check "Inactive enrollments" or "Concluded Enrollments"
If you don't see some of your students in IC, be sure to check your settings in IC
1. Click on the person icon in the top right corner as shown in the image below
2. Click on Instruction Settings
3. Under preferences, be sure to de-select "Show Active Students Only"
4. Don't forget to click Save
The following pointers may make navigating your Canvas gradebook easier
(for combined courses - a "section" is a class period)
Click Apply Filters
Click Sections
Select a Section
Define frequently used filters to save time
Click Apply Filters
Click Create & Manage Filter Presets
In the sidebar, click the down arrow next to "Create Filter Preset"
Name your filter preset (ex: 1st period)
Set up your preset options
Click Save Filter Preset
