SBG in Canvas

Configuring Core Canvas

If you are new to SBG, or new to SBG with Canvas, start here.  These resources will help you set your course grading scheme, outcomes, and assignment rubrics.  You'll also find resources for how to use your rubrics to assess student work and how the Canvas Learning Mastery Gradebook works.

Standards-Based Grading in Canvas

Here are the first steps for setting up your Canvas course to track student progress toward your course outcomes:

1

Configure your course grading scheme to align with a 0-4 grading scale

2

Establish Assignment Groups, with appropriate weights

3

Set up Outcomes for each of your course standards

4

Create Canvas assignments with outcome-aligned rubrics

5

Assess students with outcome-aligned rubrics (this is done in Speedgrader)

6

Check progress in the Learning Mastery Gradebook
